Default true duals with magnaflow mufflers?

ive been debating on changing out my spiral flows that are over the axle with magnaflows 4" or 6" mufflers(thats what my exhaust guy talked about using) . how much will it change the sound? my spirals are just a lil too raspy for me and not enough "tone". comments are welcome....also whats the best magnaflow muffler(p/n would be nice)? TIA

I have true duals with Magnaflow Ovals and it sounds deep. I love it, no rasp. Not quiet at idle but way quieter than with the bullets or the Borla XR-1's for that matter.

i have the mf 4x9 mufflers on my 3" duals on a cammed LS1. the sound is fantastic, and in all reality quieter than what i was expecting.

it has a fantastic throaty rumble at idle, IMO no rasp around town and very mellow (no need to raise your voice to converse), and it screams at WOT.

here are 2 comparison videos, same day, same camera position.

straight pipes, 3" xpipe, long tubes no cats:

with the magnaflow 4x9 mufflers

you almost can't hear it run untill i rev it.

yeah it works. sounds good..but i dont want my setup to be too quiet. mine is over the axle too so i dont know if that changes anything or not.

trust me...in real life it's not "quiet"...

when i start the car in the morning, it still wakes my gf up in the bedroom, about 50ft from the parking spot.

granted that is also with a cammed motor.

the 2 vids do a good job of comparing how much the mufflers helped...but you just have to realize that it was earsplitting with straight pipes.

like i said i need a new vid...but the trans is out of the car currently

The Magnaflow 4x9's are probably the quietest straight through mufflers you can put on duals. That is if you don't mind clearancing/BFH the underside of your car to tuck them up as high as you can.
