Default Knock sensor replacement

I'm doin the LS6 intake swap and have heard that its a good idea to replace the knock sensors while ur in there. Why especially on 98's? Was there a problem with these sensors? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have never heard that before, why would there be a need to replace the knock sensors if there is nothing wrong with them? If they are working Ok then no need to replace.

I did a search on LS6 intake install and there's a write-up on there that says something about the 98 cars having **** knock sensors. Constant 3*-4* knock retard??

Yeah, I've heard that too.

One of those "only on the '98" things. But, I don't remember it being a constant timing offset, more along the lines of the sensors were prone to being "too" sensitive.

Not sure though.

Check if there is any corrosion on the sensor it self and if there isnt then there is no need to replace it
