all long tube headers make arround the same power, so just buy what your budget can afford. Kooks makes a great header, stainless steel construction and great fit. I would defenatly take them over the slp headers you mentioned. most people who have the slp headers complain of fitment issues. If you plan on keeping the catback you have now, You'll have to get a y pipe to go with the headers.

you'll see more gains with QTP headers than with kooks because they have a high velocity merge collector incorporated into the design. QTP doesn't have the best y-pipe, but the kooks y-pipe, which is stainless and tucks up nicely, will fit QTP headers with very minor modification that any exhaust shop can do. QTP's are also cheaper and polished for a better look. QTP is currently having a sale until the 14th of this month. if you want stainless, you can get them now for $735, nearly $100 cheaper thank kooks. i just got mine last week
SLP's are a well-made header, but the design is flawed. they are the hardest to install and hang VERY LOW. you will lose a lot of clearance with SLP longtubes, and if you're lowered, you'll scrape every bump on the road every time. kooks and QTP are far superior for stainless and for the money. it doesn't matter what brand of headers you mate your catback up to. just note that your LM will sound absolutely awful tone-wise and have a lot of rasp with LT's, even if you run cats.

I agree Kooks are great headers, and you will also find alot of people with the pacsetter LT's with the TSP ORY....i have that combo only because of my budget not allowing me to get Kooks...

Kooks are better than SLP.
Matching them up does not matter.
Have you heard an LS1 with longtubes and the Loud Mouth before? With or without cats?
IMO (and many others) no cats plus a loudmouth sounds like crap. I suggest swapping cat-back/mufflers, running high flow cats or going with true duals.

Ive owned a set of Kooks on my previous car. They have great ground clearance and are very well made. I have SLP's on my car now and I loath them. I want to know what the F@$% were they thinking. Ive got dented primaries, scrapes all over the bottoms, and have even cracked a weld on the collector. I bought this vehicle with them on there, and would never put these on an F-body. Pacesetters are another alternative, but they arent stainless. Its all about what your budget can afford. Your not gonna get an assload of power choosing one over another. Im sure the difference is within 10HP if that. Good luck.

Pacesetters and Flowtechs are gonna be ur best budget header. I had Flotechs and blew a hole in a primary, bought another set and was amazed in the quality difference. Flotech has really stepped up on their quality. My old headers looked like they were slapped together, the new ones had nearly perfect welds. If u want stainless then ur heard the other brands.
P.S what ever header u get use either stainless or coated. If its uncoated steel they will rust in no time.

Kooks ftw i have seen nothing but good things about them.
SLP
At the time when i was doing mine there were not many headers avalible so i went with the flp setup because of clearance & the ease of having cats or no cats in a matter of minutes they have good to me so far.
I will be doing Kooks with my new setup
