You don't need to tune for it and it won't trip any codes. Just make sure you don't port the body near where the blade rests when it's shut or you'll get air going around the blade. This will cause you to have a high idle.

Default TB Porting

There is a guy on here that is highly recommended and I was looking at porting mine if it wouldn't cause any problems. i think it's Performance Throttle Bodies. Alot of people here have used him and appeared satisfied.

i am one of tim's satisfied customers, i thought of p&p-ing my t/b but when i saw his work and how much he wanted i knew there was no way i could equal his work and his price is a great value, it will require no reprogramming of the computer

Thanks, I think this will be my next mod. You see, I have to sneak these things in so my wife doesn't know.

6-8rwhp on a SI engine and up to 15rwhp on a cammed engine. Great mod, Smokin87TA (Tim) does a great job.

Definitely a worthy mod. I would however suggest just doing it yourself. It is way too easy not too.

What is the average turn around for Tim's porting for those that have used him. Also, what about pricing? Thanks

+1 Simple tools to do it with... dremel, bits, polishing materials (optional). I did mine for only few hours.

curious - what is the correct way this is done? I just took mine off a week or so ago and took it apart then hit it with a fine 2" wire wheel and a cordless drill, mainly just to clean it up. Then I hit it inside and out with some mother aluminum polish. Not sure if the wire wheel is storing enough to 'port' it but it sure as hell is clean and polished. I did hit it around the blade though? Not sure if that fucked anything up? Does idle a little high now but I also fucked with the idle set screw - Perhaps I should put that back.

Anyway - what is the correct way. Just dremel out the inside of the cone area or am I making this way too simple?

Follow the link above posted to the T and you won't mess it up. The car will idle high and surge at first but it will return to normal after few miles on the road.

Does anyone have a mirror for the tutorial posted above or another tutorial? I've been looking for a tutorial forever on how to do this and of course the site's down.

Even though that's my website. It's not my write up.

IMO this is a better write up:

I had mine done by Mark Shaner. I believe it is called an S2 ported/polished throttle body. Not sure if he still does them.

New Era Performance also ports throttle bodies and has great customer service. I'd highly recommend them.

got it all done this weekend - Not bad for my first attempt. I got a few nicks from the dremel walking but nothing major. I did go a little past the blade in one spot but all seems fine. Looks good and was not to difficult. Take your time (about 3 hours).
