LS1 Corrosion
LS1 Corrosion Do any of you have what appears to be corrosion on your engine block and heads? I'm new to aluminum engines and was wondering if this is normal. The corrosion I see is prevenlant and is white in color.
Depending on exposure to the elements and how often/well you clean it, that will happen on all aluminum parts in your engine bay...it's only happening on the outside, so it's mostly cosmetic and you don't really need to worry about it...but the worse you let it get, the more annoying it is to take things apart when you need to repair something, or want to mod something...so clean the engine bay as often as you can.
