Default WS6 and FRA?

Anyone have any thoughts on if cutting any of the airbox out on the WS6 airbox is recomended or will just be a waste of time. Fron as far as I can tell the tutorials about FRA are always done on either non RA/TA's or Z/28's. Any thoughts on if this is good, bad or simply useless?

I've heard it could be bad because then you break the vacuum seal with the hood and airbox, and could actually lose hp. This is what I've heard.

First of all, there is no seal on the stock setup. Second of all, don’t mess around with FRA or FTRA or any of that. You have a WS6. What you want is BG ram air. That is what will seal your hood to the air box, allowing a pressurization effect at speed, and make your car a true ram air. The quality is exceptional, and Brian Greene (BG) is the best guy you could ever hope to deal with!

Check out the mod on his website: www.geocities.com/brian98ramair/

I love his kit. I think it’s one of the greatest things since sliced bread. It seriously looks factory once it’s on, non-WS6 owners always think my car came like that!

I looked at the BG kit but was a little concerned with the daily driver factor of it. It seems like it would allow a bit too much debris and possibly water into the intake. But aside from the it looks like a beautiful setup. Is it ok for driving in rain and snow? or is it for the most part a track only mod?

I don’t daily drive my T/A, and it never sees rain/snow, so I can’t speak about personal experiences in that area. But you can buy a rain blocker plate (also from BG) for the kit that allows you to seal the hood scoops off from the air box (by removing the gasket and using a thin plastic plate as a blocker), and then the motor just sucks under hood air like a non-WS6 car till you remove the plate and put the gasket back in. Switching back and forth takes literally only a couple seconds, they just pop in and out.

I believe in getting as much air to the motor as possible.

I run a WS6 hood and lower airbox. I have all the baffles removed from the hood. I also run a Whisper Ram Air (just like FTRA).

My setup seem to work good for me

BTW: This is my ONLY transportation, and is driven rain, sleet or snow
