Hooker headers and new dual exhaust installed
Finally put in the Hookers. Nice headers..had to clean up the welds on the flange a bit but no too bad. Install was striaght forward. Right went in from the top...left from the bottom by jacking the motor. Just changed the oil yesterday and that is not an issue. Plug change is a sinch as well. I am very pleased so far.
The drove the car to a muffler shop an hour away with open Hookers. man..i was deaf when I got there. the exhaust I had installed was a true dual. 3" pipe right off the headers. An H pipe about 2 feet back and then dual 3" flowmasters right before the axle with angled dumps. Clearance is great and no banging undercar. The sound is absolutely incredible. Very rumbly and hollow sounding. It feels as though midrange power and Tq has picked up with the butt o meter. We shall see at the dyno next week as well as track. I know it must flow better since i was running pig rich after install. Hopefully that translates into more power.
Oh yeah..drove 300 miles today to Gainesville and back with the new setup...averaged 24.5 mpg with the 383 monster

Re: Hooker headers and new dual exhaust installed
I want headers but I'm torn between MAC's and Hookers..... I wonder if it would be better to go with the MAC's for now since I dont have any internal work in the engine... GUUUUUHHHHHHHH it makes me sick!!

Kickass! We need some more info on your setup! Which series flow's did you use? Is it loud enough? Any chance we could get some pics or sound clips?
