Could this be a header leak? Ok I have a ticking sound coming from the engine bay. It seems to get louder as I give the car more gas. Now my first thought was push rods, but they were all straight. I've been doing a lot of autotap lately and noticed that every O2 reading for the Bank 1 is leaner than the Bank 2. I'm assuming Bank 1 is the driver side. When I say leaner, I mean at one point I had a .85 average for the B1S1 sensor and a .92 for the B2S1 and my Ltrims are the same way, 1.9 average for B1 and -0.4 for B2. I'm also seeing some knock retard, an average of 4.32 with 5 occurences over 3 degrees according to a 40 minute autotap log file run through ltft-O2 analysis
Any ideas on this? The car goes in soon for heads and cam, so I figure I'll have it looked it then anyways.

Re: Could this be a header leak? Soulds are real hard to recognize over the internet... Best thing to do is eliminate all the cause you think it could be.. in other words.. check all your exhaust gaskets.

Re: Could this be a header leak? make sure that you didn't damage the exhaust gasket on the header to air tube. If that is damaged then you will get a ticking under load..Good luck..Michael
