I saw somewhere - this is from a vauge memory so take it with a grain of salt - can't remember where, but they got 9hp over an LS1 intake and 3(?) over an LS6. Not worth the extra $$$ or weight IMO. I would consider this only if going to heads and having it ported to match and ported for a larger throttle body.

Testing on a John Lingenfelfter 386 ci 8.78:1 compression LS1 reveals that the Weiand 300-111 adds 10 peak horsepower and 9 lb-ft of torque out-of-the-box over a factory LS6 intake! (Additional gains can be realized due to the ability to port the manifold)

I thought it was the same dimensions as the LS6 intake? If that's true, then I wouldn't think you'd see any gain over a regular LS6 intake, perhaps even a loss since any metal will retain more heat than composites. That is of course until someone ports it...THEN we'll see what the big advantage is (or isn't).

I am waiting to see the dyno's on this also. I am going to an MTI stage 2 heads and a C1 cam with FLP's. I want to get the holley intake also for the ability to port match. I think thats the only place anyone will see any real big advantages with this mod. As far as the heat soak issue. If its that big of a deal, bring ice bags to the track.

I did get one and it's getting major port work done now, cutting the bottom out and re-tapping the holes and adding a new bottom plate for more extensive porting and having more access in the runner sections...
Will be done soon and sitting on top of the new set up... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Well,
We installed mine yesterday after returning from porting. Don't have any dyno numbers yet because it has an air leak. First we thought it was the screws on the bottom plate causing it not to seat properly so we ground the heads of the screws down some, still leaked. You can see indentations in the gaskets between the runners, which were caused by the washers on the head bolts, so we took them out and ground the washer down alittle until the washers were just past flush with the mating flange on the head, still leaked air. First thing Monday morning we are going to check the mating surfaces for flatness and then call Holley. We did do a base line dyno with the new heads/cam/tb and stock LS1 intake to compare with the Holley manifold when we figure it out, stay tuned should only be another day or so.
