What headers should I get?

Alright what Headers should I get? I am choosing between the Mac Headers and the Slp Longtubes. I'm hoping to gain 15 Fly-Wheel Horsepower on a bolt on car.

Should I get Mac Headers, Pullies and some suspension? Or should I get just Slp Longtubes?

It really depends on your longterm goals (want max power), budget and ease of install.

I am doing heads/cam in the next 30 days (I hope <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> ) and I went with mac headers because they are easy to install, and give resonable gains for the $$$.

The SLP's seem to be a little harder to install and do cost a little more.

Ask around, but I like my mac headers with off road y-pipe and flowmaster one chamber muffler. Cheap, easy to install, and fell within my budget.

You should make 15 fly-wheel horsepower with either set.

some people claim that SLP headers have too many curves and stuff and slow the exhaust flow down..... but I don't think they would be too bad. I am going to go with some MAC's b/c I really just want to see if they are worth the money.... if they make good power I will stick with them... if not I will probably upgrade to some TTS or FLP's later on (when I decide to go with some big cubes) I say go with the MAC's unless you plan on going big in the future and also you could spend the extra money that you would have spent on the SLP's on something else and more useful. Thats my .02 cents!

Also- Bassani makes a mid-length as well.

Go with the Macs and spend the extra cash on other parts. I dont think with a bolt on car you will see much of a gain with SLPs over Macs.

Hey mustangeater, I just got macs done up in chi. area. Great header for the price! Some of us are heading down that way to run 1/4's at the Gateway next month.
