You are right about the velocity being higher on a 1 3/4 header. In most cases the smaller header doesm make more low end. However this does not seem to be the case with the ls1. For whatever reason they like the big headers to a point. Obviously running a 2" header is overkill and yes at that point you will most likely loose power. But the 1 7/8 work well. I just installed my ARH 1 7/8 headers on my car and it feels like a whole different animal even off of an idle. I will post some numbers when i get it tuned soon. If races are won at low rpms look at the dyno results I posted earlier. the 1 7/8 headers torque peaked out sooner about 600 rpms sooner. interesting huh!
