Default header questions? NOT an opinion post.

i know header questions have been frequent lately but this isnt another which headers are the best post. i am stuck on a couple different headers but is there any noticeable difference between a 2.5" and 3" y-pipe? 2.5" seems awfully small to me but i like the way flp's can swap out cats and race pipes. i like the hooker lt's because theyre cheap and theyre a good header but i like flp's for that swap design. however i dont think its worth that much money for that ability i could probably get two y-pipes made and still be cheaper if i use my stock cats to pass emissions with. my car is a bolt-on car for now but i plan on more later big stall nitrous probably h/c etc.

A 422 dynoed over 500RWHP with MAC headers and the stock offroad MAC Ypipe. I have run 124mph through cats with this Ypipe setup (Though I used 3 inch CnL cats in the offroad Ypipe)
I can't justify the expense of Longtubes when the MAC's flow so well. For the cost of MAC's you could do a cam as well as the MACs and come in cheaper than some of the longtubes LOL!
Cheers,
Chris

unless you are pushing over 400 rwhp, you do not need a 3" y-pipe. alot of people get over anxious with exhaust tubing size. bigger is not always better.
