Intake airflow???? PLEASE HELP
The reason Im asking this is because I read about the Fernco or Bakers precision hose MOD to replace the stock acordian shape bellows. The link www.fbodylinks.com/ls1/ferncomod.htm talks about havid an increase of about 20cfm by replacing the stock bellows. I have read on another thread though that 1 guy seen the Fernco coupler suck in during a dyno, and others have damaged their airbox. I put on 2 days ago, an flexible fernco coupler. It has one acordian crimp in the center of the hose to flex.
I guess I'm worried that the hose will suck in and decrease air flow, yet the guy that dynoed it said airflow was improved???
Any ideas or experience with this one?????
Thank you. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
I ran the fernco from home depot for over a year and never had any problems with mine.I had over a 600 1/4 mile pases and at least 100 dynos done.. Still no problems. It did make changing the air filter a little harder but thats about all.
I used the heavy rubber one , it didn`t flex but I had to trim it to size.. I thought it was wel;l worth it..
