Default Borla Adjustable

Hey all,
I am getting a Borla adjustable for a 98 TA. I was just wondering if anyone knew the best way to join it to the 2.5" y-pipe. I understand the Borla is 3", so there is a slight problem there.

I am thinking welding a reducer on is not the way to go, as the reducers are carbon steel and the y pipe I have is ceramic coated and the Borla is 304 SS. I am guessing the weld wouldn't last, but has anyone tried this??

Other option is to slot the reducer and make it a slip on, then band it at both ends. Just wnated to know what others have done in the past, thanks

The Borla will go on without any modifications needed.
