Default Fuel Gauge problem, help if you can please !

Here's the deal guys, my car never sees more then 250-260 miles a tank, maybe 300 if i do nothing but drive highway. I filled up a couple days ago, and last night I noticed that since my last fill up, i'd driven 50 miles. Well the gauge was reading just under full, I then proceded to drive about 25 miles and it never changed.

This morning when I turned on the car the guage read full, and hasn't moved since. I've now gone about 80 miles since I filled up, I know for sure there is absolutely no way the tank is full. Anyone know what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

I'm noticing the same thing, seemed to have gotten worse after changing out the battery. almost seems to go from full to a 1/4, I just fill up at about 200 miles with all city driving.
