installing Hooker LT s
So who here has installed there own Hooker LTs? I'll be getting mine here in the next couple of days, and need some pointers before I install them. It'll probably be a few weeks though 'cause of course no one knows when the ypipe will be available.

Re: installing Hooker LT s
I just helped Geoff and Jason install a set at Thunder Racing. The install was a piece of cake on a lift. Both sides went in from the bottom, pass side was the easier of the 2. The only thing we had to do on the driver side is remove the fitting just above the oil filter to slide it in. Other than that, they both silpped right in. Also, the headers sounded great even in open configuration, no raspiness with the TR224 cam. Awesome headers IMHO.

Re: installing Hooker LT s
I got done with my install of the Hookers on Friday night after about 6 hours, 3 of that was my father helping and the other 3 was me doing the rest. Read the instructions and go by Freak's analysis it helps. Pretty straight forward though. I had to take the diverter off(on top of the oil filter), take the steering shaft off, and grind some off of the part of the block (you will see it when you start your install). That is pretty much it for the drivers side, it went right in after all that. Passenger side went right in. Put the O2 sensors in and the 02 simms, buttoned up the top and that was it.
Not too loud on open header I drove about 30 miles on Saturday morning at 9a.m. to the exhaust shop on open headers to get my y-pipe done and I don't think anybody even noticed me
Good luck on your install

Re: installing Hooker LT s
Ok, so can I run open headers with no problems? I thought for some reason you couldn't do that because of the 02s or something?
Thanks BTW!
