Need help with my idle????

Need help with my idle???? Guys, I need help. When I put my car in reverse in the morning out of hte garage, it like almost dies. It goes really low. I have checked my idle with ATAP before and it was like about 6?? or so, and the tach was reading higher by a bit. IT feels like it is about to die when it is in reverese, and then goes back, up, and then goes back down. Today was a little worse. What should I check??? It is pissing me off? It really does not do it in drive much. Just reverse. But a couple of drives ago, it went real low in reverse again as susal, but did not come back up until Igave it a lil bit of gas. And then it still went back down. Pissed me off. What could it be? The Holley air filter had a lot of oil, could that be it, even though they say it is sensor friendly? What about the IAC valve, should I try turning that a turn clockwise to rais the idle a bit see if the IAC valve is operational? Thanks. PLease help me!! What should the IAC number be at?
I just really need some help to start diagnosing this problem?
If I turn the screw clockwise one turn, and the idle improves, does this mean the IAC valve is clogged? Or is that the other way around, like if it does not help, deos that mean I have a problem with the IAC? Thanks!

Re: Need help with my idle???? VERY common on a A4 with a converter. The PCM not sure how to figure the "low" load on the motor <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Need help with my idle???? My 99 T/A did about the same thing except it also did it in drive,the RPM's went real high and then started going all over the place. The PCM went bad and had to be replaced. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
