Default Here's a trick question.

Ok I currently have SLP LT's on my 2000. The problem I have with them is the top ring connected to the wiring on the O2 sensors, rattles like crazy. I have the 3 inch Y-pipe that came with the headers. I took it to a exhaust shop here in Vegas, and he said they can't be fixed, because he tried to weld them, and the welds actually melts the wiring. Is this guy full of BS or is there something I can do with all four sensors. A few of my club members don't have this problem, thats why I'm confused. The reason it bugs me is because it sounds like metal to metal vibration, and you can hear it 10 ft away from the car. Any ideas? Thanks.

Take some red RTV and spooge it in the area of wires and ring. Use liberally.

D@mn, I thought it was just me with this problem. Been driving me nuts.

I can hear it really good at startup. Sounds like coins jingling.

I was afraid a piece of the cat brick had broken off and was rattling around in there but then I was under the car one day and just started beating on stuff to see if I could find the rattle and found that those caps were loose.

Are ya'll sure the RTV or tape won't melt or foul the sensors???

I have used a stainless steel CV joint straps that are a type of "crimp lock" in the past, there about 1/8 of an inch wide and they fit perfect and don't loosen up. Or I am sure High Temp RTV will work too, never tried that.

Well I wrapped them today with tape and so far it sounds pretty good. I think they still rattle a bit though. Oh well.
