cat back question hey ive got a hooker catback and i was wondering if it is possible to change out the mhooker muffler and put a magnaflow or borla muffler in. i bought the car with this catback and im not exactly sure how it fits together any advice or suggestions would be awesome thanks
also whats the big deal with those new magnaflow "quad" tips that came out? just curious...

anythings possible with a welder. The hooker Fbody catback uses a 3" collector flange on the muffler inlet. You would have to weld a flange in similar orientation onto the muffler of your choice
I don't think so. If you look at the overaxle pipe on the hooker, the flange is welded on right in the beginning of tight bend. There isn't much room to slip and band clamp. You would also have to measure the hooker overaxle pipe. Most 3" inlet mufflers come with a 3"ID inlet to slip over 3" OD exhaust. I would assume the hooker pipes are 3" OD, but I could be wrong. When I installed my hooker catback in Feb, one tailpipe was 2.5" OD, one was 2.5" ID. So I had to take the muffler to a shop and have them expand one outlet.
