I dunno anything, hopefully someone can explain to me what ws6 entails...i understood it was a performance package, including (among several other things) ram air. Strangely enough, I saw a 1998 TA advertised as ws6 but without ram air (i saw the pic). Is that possible? how big of a practical improvement do you get out of the ws6 package? and what would be a fair price on a 1998 ws6 TA with, say, 60k miles? (Anyone selling? ) Thanks, any answers would be MUCH appreciated

The WS6 package gets you:
1) Specific functional “ram air” hood
2) Specific lower air box piece for hood opening
3) Specific low restriction exhaust system
4) 17X9” high polished aluminum wheels
5) 275/40/17 Eagle F1 tires all around
6) Specific WS6 rear badge
7) 32mm front sway bar (’98 thru ’02)
8) 1LE springs (’98, ’99, and early ’00 models only)
You can not mix and match these options. Either it has them all, or it doesn’t. There are not any ’98 to ’02 WS6s without ram air.
Power wise, a WS6 won’t really be any faster than any other LS1 mod for mod. Yeah, the stock exhaust is a little less restrictive, but the heavier 17 inch wheels & tires slow you down and counter the gain. The stock “ram air” set up is bogus, but if you remove the hood baffles and buy a nice kit like BG ram air that seals the hood to the air box (or home make a kit like many do), then it has an effect, but only at higher speeds. A stock WS6 will handle nicer than a stock T/A though due to the bigger front sway bar (32mm vs 30mm) and 17” wheels.
Basically, when you buy a WS6 you’re paying extra for looks. Personally, it was worth it to me. But don’t expect to tear up other LS1s just because it’s a WS6. It won’t be any faster stock for stock than a T/A.
