Air Box Ideal
Air Box Ideal OK, here we go. I've go a 2000 Z28 with a 4" cowl hood. My question is will a air box off of a LT1 Formula work on my car? I'm looking for something that will work with my hood. I'm thinking since this air box is flipped the opposite of the ones on the LS1 then maybe I can get more air using it. Let me know what you think. Its just an ideal I got after seeing a LT1 formula the other day. Thanks.

Re: Air Box Ideal ASCD hoods use a LT1 (WS6) style air box.
My only thought.. you would be sucking in hot air. The Free Ram Air or of course FTRA would be better.

Re: Air Box Ideal Thanks Wilwaxu, after thinking about it you are right. I probably would be getting alot of hot air. I didn't think about that at first. I am just trying to find a way to take advantage of having this big *** hood. I've done the free ram air mod already. I've got a question about that too. Can water get into your airbox when it is raining? I've read alittle about it but I haven't drove in any rain yet so I'm just wondering if I need to block it off. Thanks for your help.

Re: Air Box Ideal I've done the FRA mod. One time I drove in heavy rain for quite a while (like 1.5 hrs) and got concerned, so I stopped at a convenience store and check the filter, and it was dry.
I've heard you have to watch out for big puddles, but I think they'd have to be real big puddles.
