Default LT1 Help

Since there are not really popular LT1 sites I am posting my ? here.
Alright, about a 2 weeks ago I changed my opti-spark plugs and wires, then ported to MAF. Since then I have noticed that the car jerks at full throttle especially around 5300rpm. I was wondering what could cause this. I have checked all plugs and wires and it still does it. Could it be the ignition coil, or the injectors? I am really our of options. I took it to the track last night and I have lost .4tenths and 5mph off of my old times. The car is a 1997 TransAm A4 with only 54k miles on her. I pulled one of the plugs also and it had white on the electrode which is a sign of running lean. I am tottaly and utterly stumped as to what could cause this. Please help!

Possibly Ignition timing.I've also seen LT1's not like modified MAF's.I'd try putting a good stock MAF back on the car & see what happens.

If it is the ignition timing, does anyone know how to adjust it? I though the engine automatically advanced or retarted it?? I dont think its the MAF because I ported it before and seemed to get a gain. Could the plugs being gapped to .55 instead of .50 on the NGK's cause this? I think I just need to shut my mouth and find someone with AutoTap. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

Seriously though, if you need LT1 help, try www.camaroz28.com, they have a HUGE LT1 tech section.

For me, my LT1 is just a stepping stone until I can afford to get back into the far superior LS1 again.

Yeah that was my friend John, I am trying to get this car fixed so I can sell it and buy a 98 formula or a 99 Z28. Thanks for the help though!
