Header collector problem.....
Header collector problem..... well, i have the hooker LT's. very nice header and very easy install. ONLY problem...is that the driver's side collector seems to be aiming directly at the floorpan of the car. like i would need oval piping to get past this little point where it seems the seat brackets are. did any of you guys have this problem with any other header? ALSO, can i just heat up the bends and just pull on the collector and move it down? thanks.

I started the install on mine lastnight and ran into the same thing..I used a pry bar and a piece of metal and bent it down a little but Ive still got major clearance problems...I dont think there is a way around it unless you cut the collector back a little then weld the flange on at an angle pointing down...I just welded the flange directly to the header and Im gonna try stuffing a piece of rubber hose in there to keep it from banging...hopefully the hose wont melt from exhaust heat...Its nice how everyone said oh ya these headers are a piece of cake to install and they didnt mention the header aiming into the floor pan...I should have went with SLP..they hang low but my car isnt lowered and never will be...I guess it wouldnt be so hard if I was just installing the headers but welding up the exhaust and getting everything to fit is a major pain in the ***...I also posted about the O2 extensions not being included, so if you didnt get yours you might want to check that out...good luck, let me know how it goes and ill keep ya posted on mine..should have everything welded up and put together tonight...Just waiting for Holley to send me the extensions and then Ill fire the beast up..
