I've researched some things and was wondering how this setup would work. If I do go ahead and buy the Off-road pipe, I figure I'll keep the one I have now for when emissions comes around. I've heard that theres a horrid rasp with no cats, so I'd get the dynomax bullet muffler for the intermediate pipe. Would that provide enough back pressure to leave the borla wide open and not lose power? Will it be any louder than my setup now (mac headers with cats and borla wide open)? Opinions?
Thanks!

(p.s. sorry for the "generic" ls1 questions. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> )

Default 2 questions (exhaust and cooler)

Okay. First heres my (first) problem. I lowered my car with eibachs, and with the mac headers I scrap the hell outta the driver side cat. Well, it finally broke and rattles like no other..I've aleady blown a chunk out my tail pipe. I was just going to buy another high flow cat and weld on there...but I noticed something last night. MAC decided i'd be real funny if they design the driver side cat so that it would be hell to replace it. Because right when the pipe goes into the cat, it curves up into the header, I mean its curved straight outta the cat. And given most cats come with about 2-3 inches of straight pipe on it..I figured that'd be a little hard to do. So, what I was thinking was just go ahead and buy the off-road pipe and have that put on there, and just use the Y-pipe with cats for inspection time (It passed this year with the broken one...but Im putting a cam in so I dunno) Does anyone do that? Also, I have the borla wide open, is it true that you can loose power with no cats and it wide open???

Question #2
Installed my tranny cooler last night, everything went well except how exactly do you mount it to the radiator. We got it up in there and hooked up fine, but can't figure out how to mount it, the fans seem to get in the way on the other side.

I only run cats for emissions tests. The rest of the time it’s ORY for me.

My tranny cooler is mounted to the “frame” in front of the radiator. I drilled two holes in that frame and ran bolts through it. It’s a B&M cooler and it has bolt holes on the edge of the cooler. This might not work if you have a different brand of cooler. My tranny cooler is the first thing to hit fresh air how it is mounted.
