Taking apart Stock Exhaust
1. I cant get me stock exhuast off. It is held together with u-bolts. They seem to have crimped the pipes where they slip over each other. I cant seem to get them to slide apart? I really dont want to cut off the exhuast being that it is factory. I have heard heating it up or Eastwood makes a tool that pulls them apart. Any thoughts.
2. How much louder is the Loud mouth then my factory dual / dual with muffler? SLP says it is much louder and I will p/u a few extra ponies.
Please help. I have this brand new exhaust and its still in the box.
Thank you.
Do you ever plan on putting on headers? Keep the dual/dual, the LM is going to make you hate yourself. If you want a little more volume, gut the cats or get an ORY. The dual/dual will maintain a nice refined tone even with no cats, LM will sound like rolling death (in a bad way).
If you do plan on still putting on the LM, keep the dual/dual together. You can probably sell it for some nice coin.

Oh and about loudness, the dualdual obviously is quite quiet.. and its a noticeable difference to say the least. Idle was much louder, and well.. everything is louder lol. But I can't wait for headers personally. Loud, raspy, mean whatever sounds good to me.
That ought to take care of the removal problem. I cut my stock **** off, threw it in the dumpster, and never looked back. Then again, mine was just the regular Z28 exhaust, not the Dual/Dual.
As for sound impressions, if you plan on keeping stock manifolds and never going to LTs, I feel that the Loudmouth is one of the best sounding exhausts for our cars with the stock Y/Manifolds.
However, with LTs it does have HORRIBLE machine gun rasp and sounds extremely loud and bad. If I was going to do it all over again, I'd probably keep my stock TA catback, change the tips, and put an E cutout in.
Quiet when you want to be, and loud when you want to be.
