Need help with dyno #'s
Need help with dyno #'s I dynoed my 2000 WS6 this thursday and my numbers are 326.2 HP and 332.9 ft-lbs. What my question is at about 4250 my torque and HP both drop off about 10lbs and HP. My guess is it is my knock sensors kicking in. I will try to get it scanned monday if I can. My A/F is 12.0 all the way to the rev limiter. What would cause the drop in power if it isn't the knock sensors, and if it is what can I do to fix it? The dyno proceedure didn't help at all. I drove it there, he strapped it down, no fans blowing, no cooldown, and ran 2 back to back runs up to the rev limiter. Also how much do you think it will help if I get a MAFT and lean it out?
Re: Need help with dyno #'s There are a few things that it could be, but it's just guessing without looking at the data. Do you have access to AutoTap? It will show you if you have knock retard, and you'll be able to monitor a ton of parameters. I DO NOT recommend tuning a car with a MAF Translator unless the car is on the dyno w/ a wideband O2 hooked up so that the a/f ratio can be accurately monitored. O2 sensors are pretty inaccurate.
