Default MAC Headers??

I was thinking of purchasing the MAC headers w/y-pipe & cats included. Is this a good setup. Do those headers last well because I don't think that they are ceramic coated or stainless steel. They can be seen at:

http://www.fasttoys.net/9398fbodyframes.html

thanks!

Yes, get some kind of coating on these headers. I have the Jet-Hot coating on mine. I purchased the Mac's in April of 1999 and these headers look like they do on day 1. The best header out there IMHO!!!!

I have the Macs with the offroad ypipe, and love them. I have seen a lot of negative posts about the cats that come with the Mac's, performance wise. Perform a search, and see what you dig up. I know the Random Tech cats are supposed to be pretty good, maybe you can get the Macs with the offroad ypipe, and have 2 random tech cats welded in.

you're gonna have a difficult time getting a clear answer on HP gains. it relly depends on current mods, h/c etc. i saw a guy post last week (?) talking about macs w/ ORP and he was planning on doing all the little extras (collecter mod, smoothing the welds) and was expecting around 30. i got the ORP and some RT cats. seems like the best way to go. good luck!!

I installed mine with the coating that came on from Mac and after over a year of running them and installed on my second engine they still look like the day I took them out of the box..

You mean that crappy powdery coating that comes off on your hands when you touch it?
Yeah, that's HTS. Get it JetHotted. (www.camaroz28.com - If you are a member, you get 20% off a coating!) ((Hint, hint LS1tech)
