Default Need help with Headers.

Im picking up my '02 hawk this week, and initially my first mod was going to be replace the stock exhaust with the the LM. But lately been hearing quite a few complaints about the engine backfireing with the LM, so Im considering keeping the stock SLP dual/dual but instead install headers.

Im hoping this will help to increase hp as well as give me the louder/deeper exhaust tone I want.

I was looking at sticking with SLP and using thier Headers, 1 3/4" Tuned/Long Tube for the 2001-02 LS-1 Camaro/Firebird. However, Ive heard their too long.

Does anyone have any experience with these? or do what would you receommend. Please reply with any information you can provide, either first hand or know how experience. Thanks

Heres a pic of SLP's.

The SLP's come with a y pipe.. so they won't be too long.

the slp's are a huge pain to install, the flp's are less of a pain so I would say go with them, but grotyohahan (sp?) also makes very nice headers.

SLP's hang lower so they don't bang the bottom of your car like the FLP's. Many have complained about scraping them on speed bumps (I have scraped my FLP's a few times myself). They are about the same except you can change out the cats in about 15 mins with the FLP's and the FLP's are easier to install (may be a price factor if you are paying to have them installed). I have a terrible vibration problem that I need to get rid of with mine but I did stop the banging.

I have the SLP LT's and I'm happy. All stainless steel, 3 inch y-pipe and quality construction. Plus cheaper than the FLP's. FLP's are also high quality, but not stainless and the y-pipe is only 2.5 inches. I also drive over 4 speed bumps each day to work and never have I scrapped.
