Removing A.I.R.

Removing A.I.R. I am planning on removing my AIR system soon. I can't stand to look at all those tubes under the hood, plus I need to lose the weight. Is this right?
1. Unbolt the plastic panel in front of the driver-side tire.
2. Unbolt the A.I.R. pump and tape up the electrical wires going to it.
3. Remove the tubes going into the manifolds and replace with block-off plates. Pull tubes out of car.
Is there anything that I am missing? Also, if anyone had before/after pics of the engine bay, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot for any tips on doing this.

Re: Removing A.I.R. Is it just an ses light, or will it upset the tune of the car with stock programming? If it is just an ses light, that can be lived with untill the car gets tuned with ls1 edit.
How about the egr, does taking that off upset anything with stock programming? Or is it just a light?

Re: Removing A.I.R. The AIR removal, my understanding and soon to be first hand experience, will set a SES light from time to time.
EGR removal will set a constant SES light.
Neither will affect performance besides removing weight and making your engine compartment look NICE!

Re: Removing A.I.R. I think someone said on another AIR post that if you get the egr provision deleted during pcm tuning the air light goes off as well. If you don't wanna see an ses light get the pcm tuned and that will eliminate your problems. i will have mine taken off when installation of the 382 goes in and get it dyno tuned. if not you can keep the autotap with you and just turn the light off. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
