Default octane booster

whats a good brand octane booster? i think im going to start running it in my car. any negative side affects if im not getting any KR (on atap) on pump gas?

threw a couple gallons of 100 in and it seemed to pull 3rd better than without it. i did pass up 6800 miles this weekend so it could be the engine breaking in too......

I have used the NOS 7-10 octane booster. It works good and I have had no side effects. It is suppose to be safe for o2 sensors.$12 a bottle does 1 tank. They claim it has some nitro-meth in it.

I used NOS street octane boost in my SS because I had nitrous but I didn't feel any difference.

Just an FYI that stuff is WORTHLESS...

If it says its good to add 5 points to your octane rating what it really means is that if you had 93 octane before, you now have 93.5 octane.

Trust me, I have a Turbo car and have tried everything and nothing is as good as the real thing.

If your willing to spend 12 bucks on a bottle that does nothing then 3.50 a gallon for 100 octane at the track will not kill you. Get real racegas if you really want to up your octane.

I agree that race gas is the best method, but I have also had good results with the NOS brand "off-road" octane booster. I used it on my 383 T/A after experiencing 3.5 degrees of KR at the track. I dumped some in, and two passes later I picked up 1.5 MPH and dropped .1 in the 1/4. I've tried it on my SS as well with the same success. I usually don't have any problems on 93 pump gas, though.
