Default How to replace o2 sensor

How hard is it? If you replace one do you have to replace them all? I have been told my car keeps throwing a code saying my o2 sensors are burnt. If its easy i will go buy them and replace it myself... never done it before and just wondering... Thanx

very easy.

1) Unplug the wire from the harness.
2) Unscrew the sensor from the exhaust manifold.
3) screw in new sensor
4) connect wire to the harness

how many miles? ever run leaded gas?

are you seeing a check engine light? experiencing poor performance, bad mileage?

go back to whoever read the code for you, it will say which sensor it is, you can just replace that one but you 'might as well' replace both because they are the same age etc.

it is just a 18 mm i think, spray it down with some wd-40 first and make sure you disconnect it before unscrewing so u dont f up the wires.

Its really easy. unplug them...unscrew them. do the opposite....done. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" /> too bad other things arent that easy. just make sure the car is high enought to lay under.

Never run leaded gas. Gas mileage is where it should be. Performance is fine... I have acuatully been having this problem about 2 weeks after I got my headers, heads, cam, ypipe with new cats installed. There is a bit of a smell though sometimes.... Other then that everything runs great. They said it was the passenger side now that i think about it. I thought there was 4? one before and after that cats on each side?

my passenger side rear (post cat) O2 sensor is throwing an SES code: P0430. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

I plan on replacing it with an O2 simulator <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
