dual/dual is the name we use to describe the exhaust SLP sells with dual outlets, on each side. so a quad outlet. it is the slp option exhaust when ordering/buying a SS at the dealer. it is the quietest exhaust you can get, but still flows really well.

Honestly, the Borla is the worst exhaust when it comes to rasp (in my opinion). I started out with wide open Borla, no cats, Mac headers w/ off road pipe and the rasp wasn't too bad but highly noticable. I then added heads, cam, intake, converter, etc. and it got so bad I decided to block it off with a home made plate with tiny holes. The plate helped however the rasp is still pretty bad and very annoying. The borla flows great but I just don't like the sound of it anymore. However, I can definately get the attention of anyone within a mile (especially cops). If you are looking for a good clean sound then I suggest going with the Hooker catback or something along that line. Just my .02!

Ditto what Zangel said, but I left mine on cause I love the performance. You can learn to modulate it. At WOT its bad-***!!

i agree with everything Zangel said...i had the Borla with my FLP's and offroad pipes and it just got on my nerves it was either way to quiet or too loud(not that i care if its loud i was just getting sick of people looking at me like i killed their dog lol) soooooo i got a Hooker Catback and it sounds awesome!! i highly recommend it!

I have the same set-up.When I dyno'd open vs. closed, completly closed made more
power.It's quiet(not too quiet),virtually no rasp.No point in buying a 600.00 cat-back
and turning it into a straight pipe. You can save weight AND money with just running
a straight pipe.I like it because it is adjustable.
Loud doesn't always equal fast.

Anyways, I've heard plenty of Borla's w/out cats in our area(Schaumburg too) and they sounded like major A$$. I just do not like that incredibly raspy sound. Sounds like a very sick V8 to me. The only cat-back that is guaranteed NOT to rasp is the SLP dual/daul. Sounds great w/orp's. Hooker & SLP 2OTL also sound quite good without cats.

I forgot to mention that I had a dynomax 3" bullet muffler welded in the intermediate pipe to help get reduce alot of the rasp. I really loved the way the setup sounded.

Here is a pic:

When it is wide open I set off every alarm on our block at idle...no joke! I had many of my neighbors thanks me when I blocked it off....but they keep asking me if I can get it any quieter. Most people think I run it wide open but I actually have a pretty closed up plate in there.

Its amazing how we can get different results from our set-ups. With the Borla wide open, I made more power on the dyno, and more MPH at the track!
