Default Surfacing Headers

I have a set of FLP headers and my friend says he can send them out to be surfaced??? That way they will be perfectly flat. He then will put some kind of silicone or glue (sorry for being vague) and bolt the headers on with no gaskets??? He guarantees there will be no exhaust leaks at all. Have any of you heard about this? Thanks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Surfacing can be a problem on used headers, if they were warped.

Using the silicone method on LS1 headers isn't very smart IMO. The stock GM gaskets kick azz, and can be reused.

Yep, never any problems with stock GM exhaust gaskets...
