Stand alone system, can be used with their Commander 950 Fuel Injection system. Both PC programmable, windows based, 3D graphing, etc.

Re: Ignition for LS1 Every word I've ever heard about the LS1 ignition is that it's a VERY good setup right out of the box-- with no significant room for improvement... why spend two thousand five hundred dollars on something that ain't broke?
Or is there some hidden benefit I've never heard of?

Re: Ignition for LS1 Very true my learnered friend. But 'BEASST99' was asking about what else is out there and available, hence this thread. I agree with you, the OEM LS1 ignition is excellent. Just depends what programming you want to do yourself, and how much of a 'beast' you have. Our deal has extremelyyy high cylinder pressures, plus is a drag race only car, plus not our dollars. If money doesn't bother you, you want something you can program yourself, in 3D graphs, or have high cylinder pressures, or just want the best/something different, then why not??
Otherwise, leave it alone, and go with OEM and other available programs (LS1Edit, etc). <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Ignition for LS1 Well the holley system lets yu tune each cylinder i.e. spark and fuel. all stock eliminator cars use this system to get the mid 10sec power and consistency. one prob with it is that your anti-lock brakes are gone as well as all the creature comforts. but if you have a strict racer who cares. $2,500 is for the module not for all the hardware. by the time your done its about 5,000 for the deluxe setup.

Re: Ignition for LS1 I was told that the DIS won't work because we have a integrated unit ignition. The ignition is supposed to install between the ignition and the coils and since they are integrated it can't.????

Correct Grasshopper... From what I've learned of the MSD unit, it won't work for our deal. The Holley set-up is Mucho Good if you don't mind the $$$ <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> But, as the saying goes, it takes cubic dollars sometimes... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Cheers from Downunder!

Re: Ignition for LS1 I used to run the Motec M48Pro, wideband and Motec Ignition Expand (not needed on the M800 series)on my supercharged 6.2 LS1
