Default American Racing Headers and Streight Line Performance

Just and FYI and a thank you to Streight Line Performance.

I am getting ready to switch from my old FLP's, which were one of the first sets they ever made, to American Racing headers. I plan on installing the race ready headers on my 98 SS so I knew I"d have to have my EGR, AIR, and Rear O2 codes removed from my ECM. I "found" Streight Line when I did a search on this site for tuners so I gave them a call earlier in the week and spoke with MIke. I told him what I wanted to do, they listened to my requirements, answered my questions, and said "come on down" on Saturday.

So I went down there this morning, and withe little fanfair and fuss, Mike took care of all my ECM needs to help prep the car for the new headers. We also continued to talk about what I was looking to do with my project and they suggested that I do a dyno pull to get a baseline. Sure enough within the same visit, they were able to also get my car on their dyno and get a base pull. From the results, Mike provided me with some advice for mods that would be within the limits of the rules for the type of racing I do. So next weekend I'll be putting on the headers and then the following week I'll be down for another pull to see if any gains were made.

These guys are a realy class act! Great customer service, and I could tell that they were actually really interested in what my needs were and what I had to say. They took the time to answer all my questions no matter how stupid I seemed. All around great guys. I live way up on the north side of Chicago and these guys are probably about a 1.5 hour drive for me, but they are worth it. They will get all my tunning/part purchase/service needs from now on.

Thanks again Mike, Mike and Nick.

Stay tunned everyone in a couple of weeks I'll have the before and after dyno results for a set of American Racing Headers vs. FLP's on basically a stock motor.
