Default Will a 350 engine dolly hold a LS6?

Will a 350 engine cart hold a LS6? Not a stand, a cart. I couldn't find a definative answer through search.

weight wise yes, but other than that, all the mouting points, (motor mount holes and bell housing bolt holes) are in different places, so no

Bull! The bellhousing pattern is exactly the same from an LS1 (Gen3/4) and a traditional SBC/BBC. You only need to worry about the motor mount locations.

Most engine stands have adjustable arms on them

Thanks, but not a stand, a cart.

I am not sure if that's a no or yes then. I need a cart that I can roll around that a LSx will fit onto.

I guess you need to defind "Cart"...

As there are stands that just bolt to the side or front/back of the engine and use a short bar or base on it ($25-35.00 ?), some have wheels on the base of them (Add a few more $$'s).

Keeping in mind that the bolt location of the LSx and SBC are different, So as BadLS1Z stated, many have multi bolt holes to mount to different engines. So your answer is maybe depending on who built or manufactored the "Cart".

If the "Cart" has a mounting location or pad that can bolt to the LSx and SBC mounting bosses it will work. If not you can build or modify adapter plates to the "Cart".

A "Engine Stand" is usually bolted to the bell housing and can rotate for a build.

Some just build a frame (out of steel or even wood) that bolt to the block at a few location and add wheels so they can move engine around for storage or transportation. Just be creative and you can save a few $$'s.

Sorry. Maybe I am using the wrong term. I guess engine dolly would be a better term. The ones that sit like only a foot off the ground and have wheels under them.

I think they support the engine based on the engines original motor mounts.

Something like this...

This one happens to be for a SBC. But I don't have it, so I was wondering best guess, would a LSx bolt up to it?

I have not do or used one on the LS1.. what I found is that the front most engine mount location is 14.68" from the back of the bell housing flange., so if you have a SBC plane on the Dolly, The back bolt hole of the side plate would have to be elongated backward to match up with the front most LS1 location. The front hole/plate would be hanging out with nothing to bolt on to. The back mounts would be ok.

You can try it and either just enlarge the back bolt hole of the front plate and/or weld or a piece of steel on to mount to a 2nd location for a LS1. But one may work if it is only for storing and moving it around.

If you can get the Dolly cheap enough.. just be creative and thingw will work out.
