Alternative alternators?

Alternative alternators? Searching on the topic left me with clear advice to stick with the GM piece instead of an Autozone unit if you have to replace the stock alternator.
But what I'm looking for is an alternator that will perform as well or better than the GM original, with slightly different exterior dimensions... I have the alt relocated up on the passenger head, and the back of the alt is up against the fuel rail fitting. This limits how far back the alt can go, and it takes the alt pulley out of alignment for the serpentine belt.
For instance, has anyone used a Powermaster alternator like the PWM-58203?

I have not used the one you're referring to, but I personally wasn't too concerned about getting a Delco when I replaced mine. For one thing, the price is better on a rebuilt, and for two, you can usually get lifetime replacement. 15 minute job? Lifetime replacement? I'll take those odds.
You have a very specific question, and I'd probably recommend talking to someone like 4Alterstart or the like that does this for a living...they should know what cases will/won't work in your special application (because it certainly isn't the norm).
