hooker cat back
hooker cat back i just installed my pace setter y pipe and my hooker catback. very pleased with the pacesetter y pipe in comparision to the QTP y pipe. However i thought the hooker catback would be louder than what it is.... i started it up and almost fell over from how quiet it is. sounds like stock almost. i've heard it needs to "break in " and after time its gets louder is this true? the car definitally feels alot faster now though.

If you have a Hooker, prepare to be impressed by the torque it frees up, rather than the noise it makes. About as quiet as stock in normal driving - even with ORY - but very nice sound at WOT. It's not going to get significantly louder over time - what you've got is what you got.
yes i've really noticed the torque in the bottom end and that is were my car was lacking with my old set up . hopfully it will get a little louder its pretty tame right now.
I have actually noticed that it has gotten a little louder. But when you put a cam in it the quiet days are over, lol. Its still pretty quiet at an idle but on the gas its almost LM+catted Y loud. But still very smooth and nasty

lucky for me i knew a guy who had a pacesetter y put on his car and he worked a muffler shop so i took it to his shop and he cut off 2 inches of the collector slip fit and and then re-flaired to fit over the QTP collectors. i also used stepped band clamps which helped me out alot. the reason i had to cut 2" off the y pipe is because pacesetter headers are 2-3 inches shorter than QTP's merge collectors.
