I have them, i like them, its true they hang low but people here just have their own opinion. As far as performance goes, they are as good as any other lt header, since there free, throw them on and if you don't like them at least you only wasted some time and not money.

As far as installation, the driverside one goes on pretty easily, you might have to disconnect your steering, as for the pass. side, just go from underneath.

You'll have to go from underneath for both, but as everyone else has said sell them. You should be able to get a couple hundred towards a set of Pacesetters. The SLP will hit on every bump you go over you WILL hate them. It's not a job you want to do twice.

sell thoes bastards now!!!!, then buy pacesetters with what is left over and some (a lot) of beer. do you have a y-pipe? it sounds like you have never done headers before which means you probably dont have headers on your car already. so your going to need a new y-pipe, O2 extentions/sims etc.....sell thoes expensive bad fitting POS and get a good set of pacesetters or somthing and a y pipe and still break even.

They are a gigantic pain in the ***. I bought double ceramic coated Pacesetters with the ORY and installed them with NO problems. Very easy, clean, perfect fit on my 02 Z28

i dunno why people are telling u to sell them! unless u sell it for damn near dirt cheap, i dont think anybody will buy any slp headers. im curious on slp headers also. some people here rag on slp, but they make power. $hit, on gmhtp, they did a slp headers on a gto and put out like almost 50rwhp with a tune!! they are good quality headers also. i believe they are both stainless steel and coated!

No they are a good header, but they seem to be a bit harder to install and realistically they arent "that much" better/make more power than any other LTs

I have them on my car and couldn't be happier with the performance or the sound of them. They will hang low if you have a lowered car. Mine is not lowered and have never had any clearance problems of any kind. Then again I don't drive on any terrible roads with potholes or huge ramps or anything. As far as installation just take your time and get them on there. My y-pipe and header install took about five hours roughly to complete. Hope this helps from someone who actually has them.

i had them. if i remember i had to move steering ondrivers side and had to loosen tranny and push to get the passengers side in. clearance was minimal and y pipe banged on floorboard. as far as power gains they were ok at best. i picked up 18 rwhp w/ the qtp hvmc headers on a heads and cam car.

I'd recommend selling them...no offense even if they were free. You could get ceramic coated pacesetters for about half the price and have $400 left over for an LS6 intake, new tires, or just save it for something else. They do hang quite low as others have state. I saw a few sets on a couple Camaros at a car show the other day and even though they are stainless steel they were starting to rust around the top where the primaries connect to the flanges. My personal opinion get the same item but have $400+ to spare.

As for installation just get the car up as high as possible. You will want to get a hold of a 10mm gear wrench for the header bolts, especially the passenger side rear (nearest to the firewall). That little sucker is a son of a gun to get off . take your time and have patience . Be sure to set aside a weekend for the install just in case you run into problems. You will probably want to change spark plugs and/or wires (wires depending on mileage) while you're at it and have things disconnected. Oh yeah be sure to remove the bracket that houses all the coil packs and move it out of the way. You can leave the last bolt on, but just loosen it and slide the bracket up out of the way. This makes things a hell of a lot easier.

You will also want to get rid of AIR/EGR. I regret not eliminating them on my Z28. SLP headers are all race versions (no emissions) if I remember correctly so you will need a block off plate for your intake manifold. Speed Inc. sells them for like $2: http://www.ls1speed.com. You'll also want to get your hands on a set of O2 extensions (24" if I remember correctly) or you can do the wiring yourself, but after the entire installation I didn't feel like screwing around and soldering connections together. The GM extensions are already weatherproof too. Also pick up a set of new GM header gasket while you're at it, unless the car has like under 20k miles (then you should be fine).

The hardest part for me was getting the old exhaust off. We ended up hacking it up with a reciprocating saw because it was too much of a pain to get it all off at once. I ended up throwing it out, but kind of wish I put it up for sale. You might be able to get like $25 for the stock manifolds and $50-100 for the stock exhaust. I figure if I ever put the car back to stock it wouldn't take more than $150 for a complete stock exhaust off another Camaro anyways.

As far as throwing SES codes you will throw one (two actually) for removing both downstream (rear) O2 sensors. You'll also throw codes for removing the EGR and AIR systems. You can buy O2 sims, but it is much easier to just tune out the O2's and other trouble codes permanently if you have access to tuning software.

Whew ! I think that's about it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and don't be afraid to ask as many people ask the same questions on a weekly/monthly basis. There is a wealth of information on this board!
