As far as installation, the driverside one goes on pretty easily, you might have to disconnect your steering, as for the pass. side, just go from underneath.

As for installation just get the car up as high as possible. You will want to get a hold of a 10mm gear wrench for the header bolts, especially the passenger side rear (nearest to the firewall). That little sucker is a son of a gun to get off
. take your time and have patience
. Be sure to set aside a weekend for the install just in case you run into problems. You will probably want to change spark plugs and/or wires (wires depending on mileage) while you're at it and have things disconnected. Oh yeah be sure to remove the bracket that houses all the coil packs and move it out of the way. You can leave the last bolt on, but just loosen it and slide the bracket up out of the way. This makes things a hell of a lot easier. You will also want to get rid of AIR/EGR. I regret not eliminating them on my Z28. SLP headers are all race versions (no emissions) if I remember correctly so you will need a block off plate for your intake manifold. Speed Inc. sells them for like $2: http://www.ls1speed.com. You'll also want to get your hands on a set of O2 extensions (24" if I remember correctly) or you can do the wiring yourself, but after the entire installation I didn't feel like screwing around and soldering connections together. The GM extensions are already weatherproof too. Also pick up a set of new GM header gasket while you're at it, unless the car has like under 20k miles (then you should be fine).
The hardest part for me was getting the old exhaust off. We ended up hacking it up with a reciprocating saw because it was too much of a pain to get it all off at once. I ended up throwing it out, but kind of wish I put it up for sale. You might be able to get like $25 for the stock manifolds and $50-100 for the stock exhaust. I figure if I ever put the car back to stock it wouldn't take more than $150 for a complete stock exhaust off another Camaro anyways.
As far as throwing SES codes you will throw one (two actually) for removing both downstream (rear) O2 sensors. You'll also throw codes for removing the EGR and AIR systems. You can buy O2 sims, but it is much easier to just tune out the O2's and other trouble codes permanently if you have access to tuning software.
Whew
! I think that's about it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and don't be afraid to ask as many people ask the same questions on a weekly/monthly basis. There is a wealth of information on this board! Last edited by chae; Jun 1, 2007 at 11:54 PM.
