If you have room, you can try to get a small pipe wrench on it, but grab the bolt right up next to the head. May want to spray some Liquid Wrench on it and let it set a few minutes before you try to remove it. You can even use a small cheater pipe on the end of the pipe wrench. Good luck, you need all you can get.

this happend on my buddies car. what we did was find a nut that would fit down over it, with a matching washer, then we welded the nut to the bolt and finally twisted it out of the head.

another way you may want to try before you do that, is see if you can double nut it.

I just had the second to last bolt break on me, flush to the head. I decided to go ahead and try to do without it and it worked. There isn't any leak at all using the stock metal gasket. I thought about just pulling the head when I broke it, but I'm glad I didn't now.

if getting it off with the wrench doesnt work you will have to pull the head. take it to a reputable machine shop, i cant stress this enough, this is where all my problems started from was a damn broken manifold bolt. trust me on this, dont try to drill it either, take it to a GOOD machine shop.

+1 spray the hell out of it with some PB blaster or Kroil, let it sit for a few minutes then try to get the vise grips good and tight on it and see if it will turn. It shouldn't be too tight.

Leslie tools makes a set of bolt extracters. They sell them at pep boys. Had this happen on my 2000 gmc pick up had to put exhaust gaskets on heat the bolt a little bit the put the extracter on and turn off they work very good.
