TB Coolant Bypass vacuum/idling problem..

Default TB Coolant Bypass vacuum/idling problem..

Earlier today a friend and I decided to try this out, so we printed out the walkthrough on http://timney.cz28.com/tbbypass.htm . Got the clamps and tubes off, bought a coupler and hooked them together. Didn't cap off the inlet/outlets on the TB. Drove for a mile and started idling bad, stumbling etc.. stalled 3 or 4 times on the way home. We noticed a sucking sound after we got home, seems to be coming from the throttle body. The rubber 45 degree intake hose that connects to the throttle body is all chewed up where it clamps on. This wouldn't cause the vacuum sound, would it? What is my problem?

Forgot to mention I cleaned the MAF with electrical contact cleaner, did not damage any sensor posts. It was filthy, crushed leaves stuck to it, etc. Looked like somebody dipped it in mud. Could such a dramatic difference in the air/fuel curve be the problem? Should I reset the computer so it can relearn?

There is vacuum on that tube that the hose connects to that runs from the TB to the valve cover so if it came loose or is damaged then you have your vacuum sound your talking about. Dont worry about blocking off the tubes that the coolant lines connected to on the TB, they dont go anywere except in and out on the bottom
