Quick Question about upcoming H/C install
Quick Question about upcoming H/C install Ok guys, this is coming from a new LS1 owner, but I figured it would be better off in this area instead of Newbies...
Recently purchased a SLP H/C setup, with the stage 3 LS6 heads to install on my 00 WS6 TA. Will I have to buy Headers made for a 01+ model? I was planning on going with the LS6 Manifold, but was going to get the one with the EGR provisons, will I need the stock LS6 one now? I wanted to keep the car emissions friendly, since its a requirement, can all of this be tuned out? Thanks for your help in advance.

You can get the LS6 intake with EGR provisions, or you could get 01+ headers (*BUT* I think that the AIR tubes are slightly different from 00 to 01/02, don't quote me on that, but I know the AIR tubes changed at one point, can't recall exactly at this point). You could just slap on the LS6 intake with no EGR, yank your's out, and have it tuned out 1 2 3. You will then either have the EGR to get blocked off on the headers or get 01-02 headers (but as I stated above, may/may not have different AIR routing). Good luck, welcome to the LSx.

it will work just fine with your whole setup now. if you have headers, they bolt exactly the same, only difference in the headers is the air,egr hookup locations, so no changes for you, that doesn't effect the heads at all. Good luc man, and mae sure you post up some numbers after your install
Oh I will post the numbers, but I am not going to attempt the install until its too crappy out to drive it. New toy, not losing it for a few weeks, and refuse to pay 100 an hour for something I can and have done before. Besides, new car, wallets skinny, gonna do everything at once.
