Re: Solid Motor Mounts Honestly, not much, IMO. Obviously, if you use solid motor and tranny mounts, any problems with Y-pipe banging, etc... would go away. However, unless you are making a LOT of power and hooking REALLY hard, polyurethane mounts will certainly get you by. IMO, the only reason to run solid motor/tranny mounts is if you keep breaking rubber and/or poly mounts.
Don't get me wrong, some cars see a small gain due to less engine shifting (think about it this way: torque being used to juke the motor around is torque NOT being used to turn the tires); but on anything slower than a 10.0 second car, they are overkill, IMO.

Re: Solid Motor Mounts I just did poly mounts......they cut about half of the twist out of the engine (already had a poly trans mount) but it could have been a little more stiff. Before I had REALLY bad exhaust pipe hit problems on the underside of the car when the clutch would grab. Now it only happens if the clutch really chatters.
Looking back, I could have gotten away with solid (I don't mind the harshness....I have rod ends on EVERYTHING....) but went with the poly because I had them around the house and didn't feel like spending more money for something I might not like.

Re: Solid Motor Mounts solid might be over kill. I put them on my drag car (1970 GTO) and it helped the launch abit. With everything in that car I didnt notice much more vibration. Worth the money. However for my drag car I had no other options. Urathane is not avaliable for that car.
