Default please help! bad ground????

Well, I did a motor swap not too long ago and the car ran great for about 300 miles. then I started having bad throttle response, backfiring, and the headers were glowing red hot. I changed the crank pos. sensor, throttle pos. sensor, iac, maf, map sensor, pcm, and O2 sensors. I am still having the same problem so I decided to change the cam sensor. I pulled off the intake manifold and found a wire that looks like it should be grounded to the back of the driver side head. There are 2 wires that are correctly grounded but there is the one that is just hanging there and not attached to anything. So heres my question. How many wires should be grounded to the back of the driver side head. Thanks to all in advance who can help me with my headache

Could be a lot of things. Check for melted wire insulation causing shorts. I would also check the pin out sheet for your year PCM & see how many of these codes use a common circuit; like a 5 volt reference or ground. This may lead you to the wires, or maybe fuses, in question.

I had a multiple code issue after an engine swap where the PCM was damaged. Had tried several times to fix the areas displayed in each code, but the codes kept coming back. Bottom line w/my problem was that one or more shorts had also fried the PCM. Once the shorts were fixed & the PCM was replaced, all was well. Would have thought that the PCM was better (fuse) protected, but in my case of melted insulation, it wasn't.

Am not suggesting anything for sure in your case, it's just that there could be a multitude of issues.

It could have blocked cats, cam timing way off, pumped up lifters causing valves to stick open.

fix that generator L circuit issue. that has to deal with the alternator. dunno if it causes the issue, but can screw up some stuff. check the plug on the top of the alternator
