Really I think it might have something to do with keeping the fuel pump cooled in the proper amount of gas so it does not burn out any more often than they already do.

If you run it low enough you will see. Your manual will tell you its 15.5 also. I've gotten it low enough to get 14.2 or something in it.
i wouldnt recommend doing that cause as we all know the tank design makes the gas needle drop way faster at the end than in the beginning. i usually try to fill up when it says i've got an 1/8 of a tank left because i know the last 1/8 goes waaaay quicker than the first 1/8.

o yeah, bone stock my car used to get around 200 miles per tank in about 50/50 city/hwy (refilling at about 1/8 left). now after my air mods (lid, ported tb, ssra) i get close to 250 mpt on the same commute. with premium close to $4/gallon here the mods have started paying for themselves!

I dont think ive noticed any increase in gas milage with my mods. But i get around 270 a tank, with 70% highway. On long trips i think ive almost got 24mpg.

Are our tanks really only 15.5 gallons, i thought they were 16 or 16.5. Cause a few months ago i filled up with 15.3 gallons, i hope i didnt cut it that close.

1999 f-body changes
"Fuel tank upgraded from 15.5 gallons to 16.8, a non-metallic tank is now used."

I changed my plugs before my trip from West Ky back to Va. #6 and 5 had gaps worn to over .09! Awesome. I made the nearly 900 mile trip on a little more than 1.75 tanks. sorry to lazy to do the exact math but its not to shabby. average of 70-80 mph the whole way. mostly clear highways though.

When my 95 would get low in the 14 gallon range you could actually "feel" like it wasn't getting enough gas to keep it going. It was a pretty cool feeling to say the least though not one I would want to expierence often. As if the car wasn't slow enough right?

My old 99 got around 20ish 50/50 driving. I could get 250ish a tank when being good, and about 225 a tank when rushed for a whole work week.

I'm sitting on a pretty big cam and speed density and I'm pulling 27MPG on the highway and around 20 city. If I run through a tank hot rodin though I pull about 15 MPG. The cam and tune are awesome for normal driving but the tune will dump the fuel when needed. I love my highway gas mileage.

I have full boltons with a Yank 4400 converter. I get 18.2 mpg city with Shell 93. (About 290 miles to 16 gallons of gas). I never drive on the highway.

Thats fine and dandy all, but why the hell am I only getting 200 out of a bone stock car? Now that I realize this is bad, I am all WTF where is my milage. Got new plugs sitting in the back seat, but I am looking for a set of headers now. No use doing one and not the other. HE HE..

Sounds like you may be in serious need of a new tune. That should help you out a good bit.
