Default !AIR question

If I remove the relay and fuse for the AIR pump, I would assume it will throw an SES light, but will it disable the operation of it, and more specifically, will the check valves inside stay put or will they still move around and make noise if they were already broken? I should've had it tuned out when I had the car tuned, doesn't make any sense to keep it it at this point

it will make it stop working and it will throw a light, if their broken already they might have a tendancy to move anyway
