Default Stepped headers, do they really help scavenge more? Worth the $?

Im building my blown 370 6.0 now and im looking at exaust fo rit now. Im using stock unported LQ9 317 heads (LS6 port but a bigger chamber) and will be using a D1SC for all its worth and some nitrous probably. So i am getting TONS of air into the motor, and im trying to help get as much out as i can! How much would a 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8s help me pull exaust out over a 1 3/4 or 1 7/8? For that matter if i dont go stepped woul the 3/4 or 7/8 be a better choice?

Any opinions are welcome, im trying to learn as much as i can before i spend big $ on some stainless headers. If it matters ill be moving up to some AFRs and a bigger blower in a year or two. Makes me lean toward 1 7/8 but im not sure if teh stepped may be better.

Default

For your combo, I'd go with 1 7/8's.
