Default 98 ls1..issues starting/battery related?

ok i have a 98 ls1 camaro

i went to turn it on, the security light stayed on, so i cleaned the key, and blew in the ignition, and tada it started.

ok, today i go to the store, came back home (glad it started)

so i try to turn the car on again, and nothing, the key just goes front.

weird i noticed the lights on the dash stay on (seat belt, collant, airbag)
and the radio stays on, and the fog lamp/asr button

weird thing is, i put the ingnition back to OFF, and have the keys in my hand

so i go diconnect the battery, same thing, reconnect, same thing.

so, it wont start, i disconnected the battery (3rd time) and went to turn the car on again, nothing.

only thing i have done diff to the car in the last couple weeks, since it never had an issue before hand, just this past week.

i had a friend install the autotrix window relay to the passenger window and he also isntalled rod bolts.

what can it be? the battery is, at the most, 4-5 months old, never had starting issues nor anything.

or its the damn vats? or something else? like i mentioned, never had any issues on the car regarding starting or not starting, or what i described above.

any and all help is appreicated.
