throttle sticking problem!!

throttle sticking problem!! sometimes when i give it gas, the trottle radomly sticks about 1/2 way and bounces off the rev limiter and I have to shut the car off. This has happened at least 5 times since i'v had the car, and could be dangerous. Any ideas??
Re: throttle sticking problem!! Throttle return spring in a bind for some odd reason? Check that there are no kinks in the cable. There is a plastic clip/adjustment on the T. cable....check to see that it is allowing full return to close throttle....?????? Just some first thoughts.....not that either are likely.

Re: throttle sticking problem!! i had this same problem, but it was due to an alarm sensor intalled close to my gas pedal frame. check ur throttle cable, area around gas pedal, etc. if all else fails, go to ur local dealer (as hard as that is to say), and have them check it out.hope that helps.
