AIR removal?

Does it really matter if I am using it or not. I want to rip it out and program it out. I live in Hawaii now and going back to Texas, so will never need it right? It's not gonna be a car to take on a ski trip or anything? lol. I am keeping the egr for admissions or that would be going too.

remove the air and egr. 2000 or 2001 and up had no egr.

Don't know what kind of emissions testing is done in Houston. Do you still have stock cats? If so and you have an 00-02 car the 10YR/120K cat warranty will probably be voided by the dealer if they bite the dust. If no emissions like here in Florida you can remove both AIR and EGR and just have the codes turned off.
